Substantially weakened by death watch beetle attack this project consisted of erecting a massive support scaffolding to take the load of the spire whilst major structural timber repairs were carried out together with the installation of a structural steel transfer structure. Further repairs to the fabric were carried out and the tower and spire were then re-shingled.
